Focus and Scope

The Jonathan Edwards Center at Yale University supports and encourages thoughtful discussions that deal with all facets of Edwards’ fascinating body of work, including historic trajectories, early modern context, his life and thought, and global legacies, from a variety of perspectives. The online journal Jonathan Edwards Studies (JES) an interdisciplinary professionally refereed digital publication, invites graduate students, young scholars, clergy, seminarians, and other readers of Edwards to submit their articles, book reviews, notes, and documents to the editors for review and online publication. Comments on the reviewed articles will be sent to the author. The editors will select appropriate items for the JES online publication, which will be posted in the Spring and Fall issues.

Peer Review Process

Jonathan Edwards Studies (JES) is a peer-reviewed journal. Submissions will be sent for review to scholars or specialists who are generalists in the field of Edwards Studies or who have written on the topic under review.

Publication Frequency

The editors will select appropriate items for the JES online publication, which will be posted in the Spring and Fall issues.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Comments on the reviewed articles will be sent to the author. Once each quarter, the editors will select appropriate items for the JES online publication, which will be posted in March, June, September, and December.
